Anna was right after all... kind of.

Advance warning: 2017 may be a difficult one for time management, so I may at some point have to drop to one page every two weeks instead. Hopefully that won't happen, but it's a possibility. Hope you continue to enjoy reading this thing as much as I like making it, even if it may come more slowly this year.

Exact quote including the choking on a beverage part. Only difference was Seth wasn't drinking soda.

He was failing to drink poker chips, wasn't he?

I think my love for certain 90s sitcoms shows on this page--the only thing missing from Seth's entrance is studio audience laughter XD

At first I was wondering why Anna is concerned about Jon drinking one bottle of cola when it probably won't amount to much...

... and then Seth happened. Well, he won't be concerned about money, from the looks of it XDDD

Have you ever looked at the prices on things in hotel minibar fridges? I'm convinced they're priced to convince the 'guests' to leave the room, so that they have less time to mess up the place before checking out. I would not be surprised if that bottle of soda was as much as $10 USD, perhaps higher even.

Hotel mini fridge food/drink tend to fall on the ridiculously expensive side... but yeah, I don't think Seth will mind at this point!

Smooth rationalization there. People like Seth seeming irresponsible couldn't possibly have anything to do with other people like Jon treating them that way, could it?
Heh... just goes to show you how common "fundamental attribution error" is.

Yeah, Jon remembers what Seth was like as a child and a teenager, and no amount of actual acts of maturity will convince him that his idiot big brother is anything more than a bumbling bad idea factory.

To be fair, the events of the comic strip so far don't really offer enough cause for a change in that thought process anyway.

Translation: He's right, yo.

Welp. Something tells me there's gonna be some splurging going on. A grand? Dang. Seth did good for a guy about to drink his chips earlier. XD

Haha yeah, all things considered he did pretty well!

Well geez. He already got a big paycheck to go to Vegas with. Where can this paycheck take him that's more Vegas-y than Vegas?

That way madness lies!

Dubai, Bangkok, Macau and Monte Carlo are the options I can think of offhand for places that out-Vegas the actual Las Vegas in significant ways. I fully agree that trying to do so is dangerous madness though.

I'm really confused about the order of events. If Jon could get interrupted while speaking to choke on his drink out of shock, then was he swallowing and talking simultaneously...?

Ha, fair point. I was imagining he took a sip after saying "over a grand" but I guess it doesn't look that clear, does it? Always learning, me.

It might have just been the line break in that case. Usually, when I see a sentence end in --, it means the person was cut off while speaking, whether by another person, by choking on their drink, etc. The scene probably would've made more sense simply with different punctuation.

On reflection, I'd have to agree with you. Would have been clearer with a full-stop. Will keep that in mind for next time, cheers for your feedback :)

Glad you could get something out of it! And still a great comic <3
