Anna's WTF is spot on. And Seth. Dude. DUUUUDE. What you said might be the truth to you, but it crossed the line.

It was tough to imagine Anna not saying something here, but I thought it would work better if no one spoke but (hopefully) said a lot.

Oh, I think artistically, absolutely it works better without speech. We'll figure out what they said when the strip progresses. I think this one is a great strip.

There's something I like about the presentation here. Even though Jon is crying and leaving the table, I guess I like the... intentionality of it? He's hurting, but he's not letting himself look dejected, or like he was driven away in an outburst. Like, it's a totally different tone if he'd been unable to maintain eye contact while getting up and hurried away. This way almost feels like a statement.

I'm glad that came across--that's more or less what I was going for. That, and a dash of "I'm so furious I have to remove myself from this situation, damn it I didn't mean to cry until after I left"

Calling your little brother a flakey, slut-wannabe asshole at his fscking birthday party is a normal and reasonable thing to do, right? Seth absolutely did the right thing of course, and he even communicated his concerns and feelings to his brother in the exact right way, place and time too. Sarcasm aside, I wonder what it would've looked like to see Seth bring it up with Jon in a reasonable way.

One detail stood out to me, of everybody walking away from their drinks to get away from Seth. Anna being included in it, even after staying long enough to chug her glass before leaving, puts a bit of a point on that.

Yeah, if Ken and Anna of all people choose to leave their drinks that's noteworthy

Thanks! I think I spent more time making tiny edits to eyebrows and mouths than I ever have on a page

Forgive me for my strong language, but considering it's Jon's birthday, Seth, you are worse than a bagful of bees, a satchel of snakes, a truckload of tarantulas, a plethora of pelicans, and a wastebin of wasabi directly in the nose all at once, you popped pimple full of pus.

(Really like Anna's "hope you're proud of yourself" shrug too.)

All the words Jon didn't say, honestly
